Frontier Communications is seeking a Vice President of Strategy & Architecture to aggressively drive development of integrated Technology strategy, enterprise architecture, strategic roadmap(s) and Technology standards., The VP of Strategy & Architecture is responsible for managing and developing the Architecture Team. The team also provides tactical support for key projects to support complex design and/or validate alignment to architectural standards to ensure functionality, scalability/performance, security, maintainability, etc., 50% Strategic * Clearly lead the collaborative development of a Technology strategy that matches Frontier's corporate strategy and/or goals. * Clearly lead the collaborative development of a Technology architecture that matches Frontier's Technology strategy. * Clearly lead the collaborative development of a Technology roadmap(s) that achieves Frontier's Technology architecture * Clearly lead the collaborative development of Technology standards in support of consistency, performance, security, efficiency, cost and other strategic considerations * Identify new technologies, industry trends, and best practices, which should be incorporated into Frontier policies & roadmap * Provide strategic guidance for projects, including the supporting solution designers working on projects with the evaluation of architectural options. * Define and facilitate the architecture processes, including the reporting and oversight of architecture deployment. 25% Development * Shape projects in a timely manner to conform to project initiation standards, as well as intent of architecture plan. * Provide architectural consulting expertise, direction, and assistance to Solution Architects, Systems Analysts, Application Developers, and other Enterprise Architects, to facilitate the delivery of solutions that meet business objectives in a cost efficient manner. * Provide complete architecture designs that consider functionality, cost, performance, scalability, reusability, and extensibility. 10% Management * Manage the enterprise's Strategy & Architecture organization, consisting of direct and indirect reports. This includes hiring, training, staff development, and performance management. 5% Communication * Liaise with other teams to ensure alignment with enterprise architectures, thus ensuring our architecture meets total requirements for supportability, scalability and security. * Coordinate Technology architecture and proof of concept projects with resources from the Technology organization and business unit teams. 5% Financial * Develop and manage budgets. * Facilitate architecture governance through a governance program that balances Technology and business risks and costs against expected benefits. * 5% Reporting * Facilitate a metrics and reporting framework to provide regular reporting on the status of developing, maintaining and deploying our Technology architecture. The VP of Strategy & Architecture will work directly with all areas of the Technology organization including Network Planning & Engineering, Network Operations, Video and Technical Service Operations with a special emphasis on Information Technology (IT) and the key business stakeholders for each of these organizations. This will require the ability to efficiently and effectively communicate and interact at multiple levels within these organizations to be successful, including both working teams and senior leadership. The ability to leverage knowledge, industry experience and best practices to proactively drive definition and evolution of a long-term vision to help provide competitive differentiation, as well as driving the corresponding roadmap(s) to accomplish this vision is central to the role. This is focused across all layers of the Enterprise Architecture, including Business Architecture, Information Architecture/UX, Application/Integration Architecture, Data Architecture, and Infrastructure Architecture., * 15+ years * Bachelor's Degree * Knowledge of Telecom business processes. * Broad exposure across the various areas of IT. * Development and execution of IT strategies. * IT experience in architecture, solution design and development. * Ability to build, lead, and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve strategic and tactical goals. * Ability to explain complex IT environments to Executive level leaders, with a strong ability to influence senior decision makers. * Ability to evaluate market, and technical trends., * TOGAF certification, or other recognized architecture framework certification * Broad exposure across Network Engineering, Network Ops, and/or Video. * Telco operations experience a bonus. * Management of project and support budgets.
