Vice President of Digital Strategy and Technology - New York , New York, United States, 10001

Position Summary:

The Vice President Digital Strategy and Technology will be responsible for providing the vision, leadership and management of Cultural Vistas' digital and IT assets that meet the organization's current and future business operations' needs. The VP of Digital Strategy and Technology will use their software development and project management expertise to lead the technology teams and work with outside partners to develop, orchestrate, and maintain strategic and operational technology system plans.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-Leadership and Professional Development-

  • Help develop and lead digital and technology strategy and operational planning to achieve short, medium and long-term organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with leadership teams across the organization to understand and anticipate future business, customer and end-user needs, recommending enhancements, new solutions or strategic partnerships.
  • Develop and oversee departmental finances including budgeting and budget forecasting and resource allocation that meets business needs.
  • Lead and oversee project management of a wide range of IT projects, ensuring we stay on budget and on-time.
  • Actively keep up to date on emerging IT trends and bring that perspective to leadership and management teams.
  • Effectively communicate the organization's technology strategy to management, staff and board members.
  • Develop, provide and support ongoing professional development of IT staff and ensure all staff are trained appropriately on IT policies.
  • Manage staff performance management (formally and informally).

-Software Product Development-

  • Lead the organization through the exploration and decision making of a new software platform that supports programs across the entire organization.
  • Drive all phases of technical project lifecycle, including requirements, design, development, testing, implementation, and support.
  • Maintain ongoing functionality of legacy systems as needed during the transition.
  • Ensure we are utilizing appropriate DevOps framework and tools.
  • Oversee the organization's implementation of Salesforce.
  • Work with IT and management teams to develop RFPs for hardware and software procurement, select, negotiate and maintain all vendor contracts.

-IT Security-

  • Ensure integrity and security of data and systems; direct development and execution of an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan, as well as continually assesses and provides guidance on cybersecurity threats and risks and provides appropriate mitigation options.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of third-party security audits and assessment of company compliance with necessary privacy and information security regulations and manage relevant policies.
  • Ensure that we have strong and consistent staff training on IT security best practices.

-Systems and IT Infrastructure Management-

  • Manage end-user services for Cultural Vistas program teams, including workstations, software, service subscriptions, printing and communications.
  • Oversee on premise and hosted systems infrastructure to ensure functionality, security and efficiency.

-Data Analytics-

  • Help Cultural Vistas leverage data analytics to help drive business and operational decisions.
  • Lead and oversee project management of a wide range of IT projects, ensuring we stay on budget and on time.
  • Develop and oversee departmental finances including budgeting and budget forecasting and resource allocation that meets business needs.

-Digital and Web-

  • Help Cultural Vistas build network effects and affinity programs through its digital platforms.
  • Work with web partners to optimize the digital experience of web pages and tools to improve conversion rates.
  • Optimize website user experience including usability heuristic evaluations.
  • Develop, refine, and present innovative digital ideas and programs.
  • Overseeing the execution of digital projects/programs from conception through execution to ensure strategic alignment remains intact.

Computer Equipment and Software Experience Required:

  • Experience with distributed back-end and UI/UX front-end application design, source code management, automation, testing, deployment.
  • Familiarity with programming and database languages, API development and implementation, and Agile software development lifecycle.
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud computing architectures and infrastructure components.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or Computer Science. Master's degree in in these disciplines preferred.
  • Experience in maintaining compliance in the areas of Privacy Shield, GDPR, Cyber Risk, SOC2, PCI preferred.
  • Years of Experience: Minimum 8 years' experience with project management, software development and 4-5 years leading teams.
  • Previous work or academic experience abroad is a plus.

Physical Demands of Position:

  • Occasional after-hours emergency and/or maintenance support, as needed.
  • Domestic travel may be required.
  • Work on weekends, holidays, and evenings may be required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and be flexible to carry equipment as necessary.
