Description of Responsibilities: The Vice President for Education and Strategic Initiatives reports to the president of the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) and is responsible for supporting the academic accreditation standards, policies, and processes by developing, coordinating, and executing NWCCU's engagement with its member institutions. The VPESI will coordinate convene, develop, and deploy effective educational programs and best practices and data- and evidence-informed approaches for NWCCU's member institutions to promote student success and close equity gaps. The position requires broad knowledge of United States Department of Higher Education (USDE) regulations pertaining to accreditation, higher education programs, use of data and data systems, approaches to promoting student success and closing equity gaps, student learning assessment, and development, deployment, and evaluation of adult educational programs. The incumbent must have exceptional interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff, commissioners, and administrators, faculty, staff, and students of NWCCU member institutions.
Required Qualifications: An earned doctorate or terminal degree in any discipline from an accredited institution is required, along with five to ten years of experience at senior administrative and/or senior faculty level in higher education.
