Foot Locker, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Strategy/Corporate Development to join the Strategy Department in our corporate headquarters in New York City. The Senior Manager, Strategy/Corporate Development will help to identify, evaluate, develop, recommend and manage growth opportunities for the company, including potential investments and strategic partnerships. In addition, The Senior Manager, Strategy/Corporate Development will perform strategic analysis on current business to identify opportunities to better manage or grow the business. The Senior Manager, Strategy/Corporate Development will have extensive interaction with senior leadership, internal divisions, and outside parties.

  • Help identify, prioritize, and evaluate potential growth opportunities for the company including investments and partnerships across Asia, Europe, and North America. Responsibilities includes the following elements:
    • Create detailed business cases and business models to outline the opportunity
    • Create financial models and valuation scenarios to determine valuation, size of opportunity, size of deal, profitability/return/exit scenarios
    • P&L and financial statement acumen - ability to "read" financial statements and develop questions, hypothesis, and actionable insights
    • Assess synergies and risks associated with pursuing or not pursuing the investment and/or partnership
    • Help to define/negotiate key terms of any partnership agreement with outside parties
    • Manage due diligence processes
    • Work closely with internal cross-functional teams, as well as manage relationships with external stakeholders
    • Ensure alignment with senior leadership team on opportunities and prioritization
    • Engage internal team members, as appropriate and agreed on by senior leadership
    • Potentially lead teams in the execution/implementation of opportunities
    • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality
    • Conduct periodic analysis, as directed by senior leadership, to assess opportunities to improve or expand the current business
    • Build analytical frameworks to identify, prioritize, structure, and solve complex business problems
    • Synthesize results of quantitative and qualitative research and analysis into implications, key trends and recommendations
    • Drive primary and secondary research across market dynamics, competitive landscape
    • Leverage market and consumer insight tools such as Euromonitor and NPD
    • Create, articulate, and present insightful, organized, and impactful presentations to achieve buy-in for strategic recommendations to senior leadership
    • Organize project documentation for comprehensive and accurate filing
    • Develop strong cross-functional relationships in a multi-stakeholder environment


  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance
  • MBA a plus
  • 6-8 years work experience in Investment banking, consulting, and/or retail/consumer brands. Startup valuation / VC experience a plus
  • International transaction/deal making experience in Europe of Asia ideal
  • Clearly driven by and operates with fact-based discipline
  • Displays high degree of critical thinking skills, asks questions, and seeks to find the "root causes" of issues/problems to solve
  • Synthesizes root causes, develops hypothesis, and proposes solutions based on hard facts
  • Leads with compassion, authenticity, and humility, and brings others along
  • Operational, executional, merchant experience in retail or other multi-unit sector desired
  • Experience in influencing senior leaders / decision makers internally and externally with accurate fact-based analytics/presentations and ability to synthesize feedback to refine approach, business models and/or terms
  • Advanced Microsoft Office product skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must be highly motivated and be able to work both independently and in a team environment
