Position summary (Key objectives/Purpose of the job) :

Formulate & execute IP Peering and interconnection strategy.

Prepare AOP, process & tools automation, reporting, with focus on internal coordination with various stakeholders for input and requirement consolidations, peering committee deliverables updates, report automations and traffic analysis

Evaluate various peering and interconnection proposals and help drive the decision making on existing and potential peer and interconnections

Managing the peer relationships, including attending peering forums and industry events, managing day-to-day augments, driving new interconnections, with focus on Americas and Europe based networks.

Major Responsibilities:

Manage and formulate peering and interconnection strategies of Tata Communications International IP network globally with focus areas in North America and Europe.

Detailed Technical understanding of IP networks, deep traffic analysis from various vantage points to help manage day to day peering and interconnections, evaluate and formulate interconnection strategies.

Managing the peer relationships and negotiate on the peering interconnections.

Forecast peering requirements based on respective business requirements.

Manage peering opex to achieve cost efficiency & drive optimization, such as regrooming, timely renewal of offnet circuits.

Coordinate & drive peering-implementation ordering process to achieve quick turnaround to augment peering capacity.

Keep updated and anticipate changes in regulatory guidelines such as net neutrality, peering; Drive framework and peering policy definition to ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines.

Represent Tata Communications interest in peering industry events.

Maintain healthy relationships with established peers and develop relationship with potential strategic peers.

Productization of monthly reports on peering traffic health and performance.

Formulate, execute and mange strategies and operational aspects of keeping the traffic localized and optimize costs

Providing technical support to various teams related to customers and peers

Qualification-Necessary Requirement:

B.Tech/B.E (EE or Computer Science) or equivalent technical degree and experience.

Experience-Necessary Requirement:

5-8 years of telecommunications experience, preferably with large Global IP Transit network service provider.

Candidate should have relevant experience in formulating, executive, managing peering and interconnection strategies preferably with large Global IP Transit network service provider.
