Responsibilities
This position works directly with Partners of the firm. Your focus will initially be on the following five areas:

  • Client relations and engagement management

CohnReznick's Government Contract Industry Practice is currently seeking a senior manager in our advisory service practice to be a part of our practice that continues to grow year over year.
Specific duties include:
Advisory
  • Perform and oversee advisory services to government contractors in the following areas:
  • Policies and procedures development, and internal control development and implementation.
  • Perform business system readiness assessments and mock audits for Accounting, Estimating, CPSR, and Property Systems.
  • Accounting support in the areas of:
    • Indirect rate review
    • Financial statement analysis
    • Process improvement consulting
    • General ledger and budget analysis
    Project/Task Management
    • Accept responsibility for, and complete engagements in accordance with client time and budget expectations.
    • Make effective use of firm resources to complete a project.
    • Manage multiple client projects at any given time.
    • Promotes teamwork and cooperation within the office. Fosters effective relationships with clients and referral sources.
    • Exhibits strong leadership skills and identifies and solves problems with team.
    • Work with Partners to lead the advisory services practice, oversee staff development and scheduling.
    Personal and Professional Development
    • Earn confidence, trust and respect from clients and colleagues.
    • Continually develop technical skills and industry knowledge. Demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, creativity and independent thinking.

    • Participates in proposal writing, prospecting meetings and oral presentations to secure new clients.
    • Provides mentorship and leadership to developing staff members.
    Required Skills:
    • Education: BS/BA in Accounting or Finance; has obtained or is actively sitting for the CPA exam and meets the necessary requirements to license immediately upon completion of the CPA exam a plus
    • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in public accounting or other relevant experience
    • Excellent analytical, technical, and advisory skills
    • Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
    • Excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
    • Strong research skills in FAR
    • Proven technical skills with MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook; audit software, and Caseware / CCH Engagement Manager experience a plus
    • Functional user of Deltek Costpoint and Deltek GCS Premier a must
      • Experience with Jamis, Quickbooks, and Unanet a plus
      • Must have experience in financial statement preparation
      • Extensive experience with Indirect Rates and Incurred Cost Submissions
        • Strong working knowledge of DFARS business system requirements
          • Solid organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task
          • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
          • Ability to do local travel (MD, DC, VA)
          • U.S. Citizen
