Mountain News (MNC) is seeking a Senior Manager, Digital Content Strategy. MNC, the publisher of OnTheSnow.com and Skiinfo, has the largest media-addressable database of Mountain Travel consumers in the world, with over 36M users. The Senior Manager, Content Strategy at Mountain News Corporation, reporting to the Director, Global Operations, will lead the global Content team in North America and in Europe. Utilizing a data and audience driven approach, you will develop content strategies and page optimizations to enhance our core asset of mountain resort and snow data and deliver best in class digital content to drive audience engagement. The job will require exceptional leadership skills, agility and strategic approach as you lead an international team of multi-talented people who are dedicated and passionate about the Mountain Travel Lifestyle. Responsibilities:
Lead the global team and the management of all 25 North American and European OnTheSnow and Skiinfo sites including the planning, development and implementation of MNC's content strategy to grow our brand equity.
Focus on the user experience by optimizing and A/B testing all content and page templates to drive audience engagement and consumption, in collaboration with the development team.
Develop and assess analytics reports and data with a mobile first lens to improve user engagement and grow traffic and subscription lists across the sites and app.
Ensure the quality of resort and snow reporting data.
Optimize content distribution across all channels including SEO, SEM, social, app, and email.
Leverage audience insights including from our data management platform to create personalization strategies.
Manage and improve the SEO strategy, as well as evaluate current tools and needs going forward.
Partner with sales and operations teams to create & deliver on innovative content marketing products for our advertisers.
A focused approach on leadership and employee development. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related field.
7+ years experience in a leadership role implementing innovative digital content strategies and a focus on user experience.
Track record delivering measurable results based on analytics, problem solving, agility and collaboration.
Experience in a KPI driven environment with a desire to test and learn.
Expert in using content and web analytics tools (Google or Adobe Analytics)
Understanding of SEO and market dynamics.
Passion for skiing/boarding and mountain travel.
Preferred prior experience with:
Data management platform (Adobe Audience Manager or similar).
SEO tools such as SearchMetrics, Google Keywords Tool, Search Console.
CMS and ticketing systems such as Jira or Trello.
A/B testing using tools such as Google Optimize or Crazy Egg.
Email expertise using MailChimp and Mandrill.
Notification experience with Urban Airship.
Marketing experience with Hootsuite, Facebook Ad Manager, Twitter, Instagram and AdWords.
