We're looking for a candidate to fill this position in an exciting company

  • Develop and lead the implementation of the company's external communication strategies and tactics, across business, brand and product related announcements;
  • Lead strategic thought leadership efforts to create and uphold a positive public image for the company;
  • Evolve the company's key messaging platforms to amplify the company's brand, vision and strategy, ensuring consistency and alignment across the organization;
  • Proactively identify, establish, and nurture relationships with the media and industry influencers;
  • Manage multichannel communication roll-outs for PR campaigns, events and product news working cross-functionally to integrate digital, social, earned and owned media strategies;
  • Facilitate incoming media inquiries and proactively seek opportunities to enhance company's industry leadership position with and in the media;
  • Successfully manage agency strategy, budget and relationship;
  • Ability to proactively inform, engage and influence C-level executives, marketing leadership, and product leadership to throughout the comms planning, preparation and execution;
  • Manage the approval process for all press releases start to finish;
  • Partner with the VP of Corporate Communications, as well as internal communications, to maintain crisis communications plans and processes;
  • Partner with the VP of Corporate Communications and Corporate Development team on acquisition and investment communications aligned with the company's growth strategy;
  • Lead and grow the PR team in alignment with company leadership behaviors
  • Proactively seek leadership opportunities for executive leaders in key media outlets;
  • Monitor competitive news/developments and industry-related issues, crafting responses and/or strategic messaging while maintaining a robust understanding of competitor landscape;
  • Track and engage with influencers and members of the industry media;
  • BS/BA with 15+ years' experience in a corporate communications or PR role. Corporate experience required and a mix of corporate and an agency experience preferred. Life sciences a plus;
  • Demonstrated experience with both traditional PR and digital, social and influencer programs to build a brand;
  • Lead with a can-do attitude; must be a positive force on the team;
  • Strong understanding of the changing media landscape and demonstrated ability to take a creative approach in breaking through the noise;
  • Demonstrated success working in a cross-functional matrix environment and ability to influence executives to gain cross-functional alignment on communications strategy and execution plans;
  • Experience managing multichannel communication roll-outs for thought leadership, content and campaigns, events and product news;
  • Solid experience in building out external media plans (crisis comms, corporate comms strategy, messaging);
  • Previous experience successfully managing agency teams and driving value;
  • Confidence with C-suite and company leaders;
  • Natural and intellectual curiosity into the markets and technologies in our space;
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and strong program management skills;
  • Proven ability to challenge the status quo and regularly think of ways to do things differently more efficiently and with greater productivity;
  • Possesses strong written, verbal, social communication skills.
