They provide clients with consulting services to plan, site, and monitor major projects and meet the growing demand for new infrastructure in the Commonwealth and New England. They see the need for increased skills in the areas of energy siting, battery storage, demand management, and the growing area of technology/big data.

The client is seeking a Massachusetts-based leader to join our growing energy practice. This position is aimed to attract a person who wants to be part of a growing team of professionals and lead the internal and external components to grow and develop our energy business in the short and long term. The ideal candidate will have previous experience managing complex permitting and licensing efforts associated with energy-related projects in New England, such as power generation, electric transmission/distribution, natural gas transmission/distribution, and renewable energy generation. Excellent communication skills are a must for this position, both externally with clients, agencies and communities, and also internally for one on one communications with our diverse team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Client management
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary client and subcontracted project teams
  • Develop and implement overall strategy and approach for environmental aspects of complex projects
  • Help identify the differentiators in the marketplace
  • Manage project teams responsible for supporting the environmental permitting and licensing, engineering, and construction compliance phases of projects in the energy market
  • Oversee quality control of environmental permit deliverables for projects
  • Perform project management responsibilities, including project scope development, cost estimation, staff resource identification, implementation oversight, budget tracking, and completion of administrative requirements
  • Stay up to date with state and local energy trends, and regulations

Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of professional environmental compliance consulting experience
  • BS in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, or related field; MS preferred
  • Client management experience
  • Knowledge of federal and state energy siting processes
  • Knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations and environmental permitting
  • Relevant environmental project management experience
