The Senior Director, Supply Chain Management develops and executes the strategy that ensures all BIC-USA divisions have the necessary inventory to satisfy channel, eCommerce, subsidiary, dealer, and customer demand. This role assumes the leadership of a supply chain workstream by leading a team in the areas of Sales, Operations Planning, Forecasting, MRP, Procurement, and Customer Order Management.

This role manages end-to-end supply chain operations by using knowledge of warehousing, logistics, freight, import/export, and distribution. This position has a substantial impact on customer experience and customer loyalty and has up to 4 direct reports and up to 35 indirect reports.

Strategy and Demand Planning

  • Develop and deploy logistics, inventory, and warehousing performance standards that support and align with company strategy and customer expectations across a global distribution network consisting of self-operated warehouse locations and third-party vendors
  • Collaborate with manufacturing plant and other functional stakeholders to keep up with customer/inventory demand
  • Assess current and future operational risks globally and locally, and translate those into strategies, capabilities, best practices, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Determine and create unique division inventory strategies to meet budget and resource limitations while maintaining business plan service levels and defined satisfaction levels

Process and Operations Management

  • Lead, manage, and direct Supply Chain responsibilities S&OP, Forecasting, Planning, Procurement, Order Management, Manufacturing Liaison, etc.)
  • Manage internal ordering processes to optimize inventory, thereby maximizing fill rates while minimizing obsolescence and scrap
  • Work closely with the Export Order Management Group (OMG team) to ensure efficient order processing and effective replenishment of stocked spare parts inventories at BIC-USA and Subsidiaries

Continuous Improvement

  • Develop, direct, and manage overall improvement targets and oversee execution of initiatives
  • Set, revise, and enhance business processes to utilize and maintain SAP
  • Collaborate to evaluate and implement new supply chain capabilities and tools
  • Work with internal partners to assess, align and optimize supply chain processes
  • Present business status to executives, subsidiary, division, and departmental leadership

Provide Leadership, Guidance, and Vision for the Supply Chain Function

  • Manage four direct reports of Directors and Senior Managers within an organizational structure that oversees a team of 35 people
  • Create an environment of collaboration, outside the box thinking and creative problem-solving
  • Provide guidance, training, mentoring, coaching and development
  • Make recommendations regarding hiring, promoting and terminating

Additional Responsibilities

  • Accountable for reporting of procurement savings and compliance, inclusive of tracking savings to the P&L
  • Be an innovator and thought leader, anticipating changing demands and identify synergies with Division Heads


- A Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or related degree; Masters Degree preferred

- APICS or ISM certification such as CSCP, CPIM, and or CPSM is preferred

- Minimum 12 years experience in:

  • Managing budgets in excess of 15M
  • Planning, scheduling, forecasting, material requirement planning (MRP) in a distribution center or fulfillment center environment
  • Managing inventory replenishment and back order management in a distribution center or fulfillment center environment
  • Demonstrated experience in contract negotiation with vendors in supply chain and transportation areas

- Employment history should show a progressive increase in role of management responsibility within a Supply Chain Organization

- Advanced knowledge of SAP or equivalent ERP system
- Interpersonal skills to build and nurture strong relationships with division head, executives, and external partners
