Your Role and Responsibilities The IBM CIO Organization is looking for an experienced Senior Application Support Engineer with a proven track record of driving IT Operations tooling, process and technology improvements and executing on operational excellence initiatives. The role will appeal to a hands-on, well-rounded individual with strong technical skills with a passion for driving impactful IT Ops transformation with a specific focus on overseeing Quarter End activities for our most critical applications which participate in IBM's quarterly end-to-end business processes across multiple business areas. This helps to ensure a stable computing environment by leading them through the Quarter End preseason proactive checklists, change freeze periods, industry best practices and daily cadence. This role partners across several business units, in support of the enterprise mission-critical IT infrastructure. In the event of service disruptions, this role will raise awareness, communicate accordingly to senior leadership, and ensures engineers are addressing the issue in its entirety. Once the quarterly cycle has completed, a retrospective will be conducted to address outstanding action items to closure continuously improving the process. This role will also be responsible for driving the transformation of this process which will likely include new tooling and automation. Responsibilities ? You will bring strong technical application engineering operations background experience running large, complex engagements in a leadership position ? You are comfortable presenting and communicating to executive level management ? You are flexible given this is a global position focused on quarter end, the application needs to be available outside of normal business hours during the critical quarter end period ? You have strong IT technical background to bring to this role their technical expertise and ability to understand and effectively communicate with the application teams who support these critical applications ? Experience driving IT Ops transformation In this role you will work closely with global application support teams and their executive leadership through the quarter close process. You will work closely with IT operations to automate and recommend innovative tooling and process enhancements. IBM will not be providing visa sponsorship for these positions now or in the future.
