Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will specify, design and implement major changes to existing software architecture. Define project needs. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to ensure consistency, testability and portability across products in general.

Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.

PositionDescription

This opening is for aSolution Directorfor ourSupply Chainsolutions. The role will focus on inventory across our portfolioincluding: inventory operations in the store and warehouse and all aspects of inventoryallocation and replenishment. The SolutionDirector works as part of a small, high-calibre team to deliver upon the visionfor the Supply Chain and wider RGBU solutions. They will work within a team focused on Merchandising, Supply Chain, Analyticsand the end to end processes of our entire Oracle Retail portfolio but willwork across multiple solution management groups.

The SolutionDirector provides thought leadership and industry expertise to help shape thesolution roadmap with the Solution Unit Senior Director. They work on market analysis and businesscases for the proposed investments and solicit feedback from the field (sales,consulting and retailers) in order to optimise the revenue generation andmarket share growth.

Successful Solution Directors have a strong background in retailsupply chain (Oracle Retail or other) and extensive expertise in the retailsoftware market. They are good at building relationships and understanding thegreater organisation including the Development team. As leaders within the organization, they are evangelistsfor the solutions both externally and internally.

The Solution Director is responsible for the following solutiondeliverables:

Vision work with the Solution Sr. Director to shape the roadmapfor the solution set

Market Requirements create market requirement documents forsolution enhancements

Messaging construct relevant collateral thatconveys not only the features of the solution, but the value it will bring theretailer

Business Case Support provide quantitative business justificationfor the proposed enhancements

TCO, Partner & Implementation Approach document/analyzecurrent solution TCO, develop partner relationships, and work to optimize theimplementation of the solutions

Customer Advisory Board own the CAB content throughout the yearand membership list

Customer success - participate in strategic customer discussions andissue resolution

Demo Vision assist with software demonstration requirements

Thought Leadership internal and external communication related tokey industry trends and how they may be relevant to the solutions

In addition to the above activities, the Solution Director assistsin sales cycles and customer strategy sessions as necessary. They collaborate very closely with theSolution Senior Director and provide guidance to the Solution Managers onsolution / product requirements.** The Solution Directorreports directly to the Senior Director within the solution unit.

Job Requirements

First-hand, detailed knowledge of the Retail Industry andretail business processes with an emphasis on Supply Chain operations. Ideallythe candidate will be familiar with the Oracle Retail solutions (or competitivevendor equivalent solutions such as JDA, Relex, SAP etc.). The candidate should have consultative sellingor business consulting experience as well as excellent presentation, communicationand influencing skills. They must possess strong financial analytical skillsand business acumen. At least 10 years relevant experience is expected. The ability to travel domestically as well assometimes internationally is required. BA/BS required, MBA an advantage.
