Retail PM with Merchandising/ Sourcing - Minnesota, United States,

The Retail PM with Merchandising or Sourcing will bring exceptional strategic, analytical and program and project management skills to help execute company's most important projects. This role also plays a key role in partnering with strategic initiative owners to develop time and action plans, measurement methods, and aid in the implementation of the initiatives. This Project Manager will focus on both growth & operational initiatives including new revenue-generating initiatives, business process improvement, systems and technology integration, and organizational change management.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead Program level responsibilities such as standards, processes, templates, communication, change, resource management and reporting
  • Identify and lead the project management and change management needs of critical initiatives across the portfolio
  • Create and drive project governance, providing structure and support through the development and utilization of a centralized project management process and methodology
  • Identify potential business risks and barriers to successful implementation; partner with business stakeholders and IT to problem-solve
  • Manage and communicate information about project status and changes in strategy, priorities, scope and risk
  • Identify, create and manage measurement systems to track project success, adoption and ROI metrics
  • Partner with the AVP of Strategic Initiatives to study the retail market and competitive trends as well as our customer trends and insights to propose areas of strategic focus for the upcoming year.
  • Partner with the AVP of Strategic Initiatives to lead the annual strategic planning process and selection of fiscal year initiatives and projects.
  • Partner with the AVP of Strategic Initiatives and finance and business leaders to develop business cases for the proposed initiatives.
  • Perform diligence and present findings/analysis to project stakeholders to support project approvals, key decision points, and next steps
  • Partner with the AVP of Strategic Initiatives and business leaders to develop the Time and Action Plan for the initiatives
  • Identify organizational change readiness and training needs
  • Act as a partner and coach to business leaders in their role as project managers and change sponsors
  • Manage, develop and mentor team members as well as project teams and contractors

Education:
Successful candidate will possess:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; MBA or Masters degree a plus; Project Management or Change Management Certifications a plus, but not required

Experience:
  • 5-7 years of progressive project management, specific marketing and omni-channel project experience, a plus
  • Experience working at a major consulting firm or related internal experience at a retail corporation
  • Extensive experience with process and project management approaches, tools and best practices
  • Projects will align with our core retail and manufacturing functions of: Merchandising, Sourcing, Planning & Allocation, Marketing, Omni Channel and Field/Store Operations. Experience in these areas is a plus but is not required
  • Knowledge of retail operations is a plus
