As a Procurement Lead working on the Procurement Center of Excellence team, you will contribute to Takeda's mission by establishing strategy for Procurement at Takeda across the Enterprise - policies, category strategy, and working in partnership with Takeda Business Services and Category Leads. You will also create a Procurement Academy within Capabilities and work with the Global Real Estate, Facilities, & Procurement (GREFP) Capabilities Team. Additionally, you will run Supplier Days and Partner Value Summits with a focus on relationship and value development. You will work closely with peers in Supplier Innovation, Ethical Sourcing, Diversity, Systems. Finally, you will help establish dashboard and reporting requirements for Takeda Business Services.

OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE:

* Lead and take accountability for global procurement strategy and policies.
* Lead a team with responsibilities in program management, business intelligence and analytics
* Collaborate with the Head of Procurement COE in designing and implementing the Procurement Operating model Enterprise wide
* Develop strong horizontal alignment with Global and Regional Procurement Leads, other CoE Leads, and Corporate Functions particularly TBS and Finance.
* As part of a centrally-funded model at a global level, provide global oversight of procurement policies and procedures.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

* Cultivate relationships with the Global and Regional Procurement Leads, and Corporate Functions, particularly TBS (Takeda Business Solution) and Finance. Serve as the primary point of contact for procurement strategy and policies. Draw upon the expertise of peers within the function and their organizations.
* Leverage the Systems and Operations Procurement COE Lead to ensure alignment and timely implementation of Procurement Strategies/ operational changes
* In collaboration with Head of Procurement CoE and Procurement CoE peers, develop, lead, and implement a holistic global strategy for procurement such as what we will (will not) do, programs that lead up to building a best in class procurement organization, segmentation of work with TBS (Takeda Business Solution) or automation / digital evolution.
* Set policy thresholds in close collaboration with the business, build self-service capability for procurement activities below the threshold, and roll-out revisions and training globally. Establish communication channels to ensure internal alignment.
* Engage in an active partnership with Takeda Business Solution (TBS) to deliver best in class internal operations. Standardize services to maximize efficiency and customer experience in ways that align to global benchmarks and allow for flexibility at the regional/local/category level. Co-create and manage to performance metrics making course corrections as required. Identify areas of opportunity for automation/ role off to TBS that improve the agility of regional/local/category procurement as well as the enterprise, i.e., DocuSign.
* Define processes and governance and manage ongoing analytics support to Global and Regional Procurement teams
* Implement process improvements in Procurement projects, savings management and reporting. Implement harmonized standards across the global organization to enable efficiencies, effective controls and Company-wide spend management/reporting
* Develop best practices in category management and templates that can be leveraged by global and regional procurement teams e.g. template for category strategy.
* Partner with Procurement COE colleagues and procurement teams to ensure accuracy of spend data, category classification and supplier segmentation.
* Support global roll-up of KPIs/SLAs. Enable mechanisms for easy access and visibility of analytics at regional, local and category level. Develop, implement and lead actions to improve global performance.
* Lead in the development of the Category Cockpit with the Business Intelligence and Analytics direct report and TBS.
* Manage and track progress on integration value capture initiatives and continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with Finance on reporting
* Complete external research to ensure continuous improvement of the procurement program globally. Monitor industry best practices. Introduce and leverage digital, automation, and contemporary technology e.g. AI, big data and work with Takeda Business Services (TBS) to implement.
* Lead in the management of Partner Value Summits, Supplier Days, Innovation Day and/or any other large Procurement & Supplier events.
* Develop procurement capabilities of individuals and of the organization aligned with global strategy and goals.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

* BA or BS required, MBA or Masters Degree with Supply Chain/Procurement emphasis preferred
* Procurement qualification (e.g. ISM, IPMM, or MCIPS) valued.
* Lean and/or Six Sigma certification a plus.
* At least 10 years in progressive procurement leadership role.
* Experience working in a complex global environment, understands international business practices, customs and markets.
* Exceptionally skilled at stakeholder management.
* Possess in-depth knowledge of supply base and sourcing business practices.
