Summary: The Marketing Communications and PublicRelations Manager is responsible to create and implement strategies to promote tourism generating sporting events that will take place in Palm Beach County. Additionally, the Marketing Communications and public Relations Manager works with the Marketing and Business Development departments to deploy tactics that promote Palm Beach County as a sportsdestination and attract a variety of state, regional, national, and internationalsporting events to Palm Beach County. This position works to manage internal and external communications and marketing activities of the Palm Beach CountySports Commission. The Marketing Communications and Public Relations Managerassists with marketing functions, advertising initiatives, website developmentand curation, public relation and community outreach efforts, and salesstrategies that develop sports tourism for Palm Beach County. The Marketing and Communication Manager oversees the work of the Marketing Department in the following areas: Marketing & Promotions Network and communicate with sportswriters of industry trade publications to obtain exposure and brand awareness for Palm Beach County and its sports assets. Determine placement and position of online and print marketing and advertising devices to promote Palm Beach County as a sports destination. Develop and produce Sports Commission creative and marketing materials (i.e. marketing and promotional brochures, facility guides, event programs and invites, etc...) Deploy e-marketing and online marketing strategies to effectively communicate with the company's constituents Design e-marketing and online marketing strategies to create revenue generating opportunities through membership recruitment and event ticket sales Public Relations Create and structure public relation initiatives for PBCSC owned and supported event, including the production of press releases or media alerts. Develop and maintain strong relationships with local media and national sports industry media Execute the production of a monthly newsletter in addition to news and media releases. Proactively contact and respond to local reporters, editors and related media associates to generate positive coverage for the mission and work of the PBCSC and its role in community economic development Proactively contact and respond to reporters, editors and related media associates on a national level to generate positive media coverage for Palm Beach County as a destination for sporting events Knowledge of principles and practices of media and public relations Effective communication and public speaking techniques Social media marketing, promotions, communications, analysis, and functionality Effective technical and news writing skills Principles and applications of graphic design and lay out Social Media Integrate marketing strategies to utilize social media in order to promote the County as a sports destination Assimilate social media into marketing strategies to enhance brand awareness Utilize social media channels to obtain leads for new business opportunities and grow the PBCSC overall database Present PBCSC social media properties as a customer service instrument for event owners and as a feedback tool to evaluate the experience of event constituents Website Development & Maintenance Maintain and manage the company's website content and deploy e-marketing and online marketing strategies to effectively communicate with constituents Responsible for ensuring that the definedcompany standards for design, content and web operation are consistent andaccording to brand standards Responsible for performing day-to-day site maintenance, monitors, improves and updates all content of the Website. Ensures that the Web site is easy to navigate and that it addresses the needs of the company and its customers. Makes sure that the website works properly and can be accessed quickly by as many people as possible. These tasks include making sure the server (a computer in a network that provides services to other computers in the network) ansd browsers (the different programs used to access the Web site) can properly handle e-mail, transmit news, and download files. Acts as a coordinator and supervisor to the activities performed by external or outsourced organizations in regard tomaintenance of the website. Works with third-party resources for implementation of all components of the website. Requirements/Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Journalism or Communications preferred Minimum 2 years of equivalent professional experience Ability to work well independently on several projects concurrently. Possess excellent organizational skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills Demonstrate high energy level and flexibility coupled with sound judgment Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
