Summary: Supports the Demand Management & Planning process for all raw materials and components. This position establishes standards and practices for a model supply chain, including developing policies, procedures, and techniques that are consistent with the strategic IOPS (Industrial Operations & Product Supply) direction and sound principles of supply chain management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Develops, manages and continuously improves the demand planning process as it relates to raw materials and components
Responsible for all forecasting activities for raw materials and components.
Creates & maintains forecast models incorporating business intelligence & forecast information gathered from internal & external stakeholders
Works with cross-functional teams to ensure effective and disciplined demand management to meet requirements as defined by Program Development, production plans, stocking strategies and risk mitigation requirements
Actively seeks creative solutions to optimize demand management and planning;
Drives Continuous improvements initiatives; enhances demand planning process development by communicating performance standards, developing joint improvement initiatives, and actively soliciting formal feedback; create business process flow diagrams to identify opportunities to optimize planning
Actively seeks creative solutions to optimize global material planning processes and reduce supply risk.
Understands IOPS manufacturing and supports business and Tarrytown PMPD (Preclinical Manufacturing and Process Development) requirements, ensuring raw material positioning supports current and future growth requirements.
Reviews Integrated Product Supply Plan and identifies potential impact to raw material planning.
Works closely with CMC Program Management, Large Scale/Mid Scale Manufacturing, Finance, Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Procurement to create and manage Demand Management process; aligned with the company's overall objectives and timelines.
Creates and publishes metrics to evaluate overall plan/process effectiveness; accurately produces regular metrics reports on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis that drive positive results, gets to root cause and rolls up to annual IOPS goals.
Maintains awareness of current industry standards, trends and practices.
Approaches business challenges from a macro perspective and resolves strategic issues effectively and supports the Supply Chain management team by providing timely analysis of tactical operations and long-term strategic needs;
Provides leadership and works collaboratively with other functions to prepare IOPS for the future and secure daily activities.
Works to seek improvements to process, technique, and execution, as well as adoption of improved systems and or tools.
Works collaboratively and effectively with various internal business units.
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong working knowledge of supply chain management at both the development stage for clinical supplies as well as at the commercial stage is desirable
Ability to manage multiple, complex projects and changing priorities; work extended hours when required, make sound decisions under pressure, and work effectively in a team environment.
Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, Oracle and ACCESS Database
Excellent time management, organizational skills, and written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate details clearly and effectively.
Attention to detail, fact-based, self-motivated, and ability to work under pressure.
Education and Experience:
Associate Manager: Bachelor's degree (Business, Supply Chain Management, or science background) with at least 6 years' experience in Supply Chain Management
Manager: Bachelor's degree (Business, Supply Chain Management, or science background) with at least 7 years' experience in Supply Chain Management
Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education
Master's degree a plus
Previous experience in planning, drug development, performance metrics, and project management
Pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience a plus
IBF or ASCM (formerly APICS) or other related purchasing certifications a plus
GMP regulated experience a plus
Lean/Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement knowledge a plus
