Your Job: The Manager, Public Relations is responsible for defining and leading the strategy and execution of Brooks PR programming. You will take broader marketing stories and transform them to external communication that positions Brooks as the #1 run brand with media. You will have a strong understanding of both the Brooks brand and the runner and infuse your knowledge through all external stories and interactions with media. Responsibilities: Define and lead the PR team in the development and implementation of comprehensive, external communications plans, including clear narratives that can be demonstrated across traditional media. Ensure plans address Brooks key three storytelling audiences; business, consumer/product and trade. Develop and drive the annual corporate storytelling platform and accompanying messaging narrative to be used by the CEO and executive business leaders. Partner with International Marketing and Communications Managers to drive consistent global PR programming and alignment with brand initiatives including brand storytelling and timing, corporate messaging and events. Lead strategy and execution of all Brooks consumer press events driving brand, business and product storytelling. Oversee the development of all media materials including press releases, fact sheets, product overviews etc. to ensure all messaging ladders up to overall strategic goals of the marketing function. Build and manage relationships with key trade media and industry influencers which includes understanding running footwear media landscape, identifying new contacts and building relationships with newcomers and key freelancers. Partner with functional marketing leaders across the global marketing organization to ensure PR alignment and integration with brand initiatives across all marketing mediums (i.e. social media, influencer marketing, retail marketing, etc.). Lead, coach and mentor the Brooks PR Specialist and Coordinator by managing their career development and opportunities for growth within the organization. Build a highly functioning team by creating clear and consistent workstreams. Own the management of the Consumer PR agency to ensure go-to-market planning is aligned to overall marketing objectives and aligned to overall PR goals. Qualifications: BA or BS degree in Communications or Marketing Minimum 7 years' experience in the field of Public Relations; minimum 3 years agency work required, specific work in athletic footwear/apparel a plus 3+ years leading, coaching and mentoring a PR team Knowledge of consumer research and insight led communication Proven ability to develop and execute strategic communications plans that meet or exceed stated goals Adept at building and maintaining relationships with key media Interact effectively and professionally with executives and organizational leadership Ability to work across the organization to gather consensus and develop integrated programs Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral; must be extremely detail-oriented Must possess the ability to execute a wide variety of tasks and work in a fast-paced, team environment A passion for the running enthusiast and active lifestyle Strong organizational skills and independent work habits Strong computer skills: PowerPoint, MS Office
