Cox Enterprises is hiring an Advisory Assurance Specialist who will assist in the execution of the department-splan, budget, objectives, and goals by performing advisory and assuranceprojects in accordance with the annual audit plan and risk strategy drivingthe overall execution of projects from planning through final report deliveryand collaborating with team members and stakeholders to set responsibilitiesand manage workloads among multiple engagements. The successful candidate willdemonstrate a proven ability in leading diverse teams within simultaneous workstreams on multiple projects while utilizing project management standards andperformance management techniques. Thisrole will report to the Advisory and Assurance Manager. Responsibilities Actas an independent and objective assurance and consulting professional byassessing current processes and internal controls and providing recommendationsthat add value and improve the organization's operations Applyand leverage understanding of business processes and risk and control conceptsto develop risk assessments, audit programs, and testing procedures thatappropriately address identified risks and project objectives Reviewaudit evidence and demonstrate the ability to draw appropriate conclusionsregarding the effectiveness of the organization-s control environment Prepareworkpapers that are accurate, complete, and well-documented ensuring adherenceto applicable professional standards at all times Performreview of workpapers to ensure that workpapers are accurate, complete, andwell-documented ensuring adherence to applicable professional standards at alltimes Supportbusiness units and processes by identifying continuous improvementopportunities with clear quality, cost, andor efficiency gains utilizingdata-driven, fact-based analytics to formulate tactical solutions to businessissues and understanding the relationships between mitigating risk, improvingperformance, and balancing costbenefit of suggested solutions and changes Proficientlyapply continuous improvement methods by demonstrating end-to-end processperspective and analysis mastering the advisory and assurance skill setsthrough active participation in the department curricula s taying abreast of current business and industrydevelopments as well as new pronouncementsstandards relevant to Cox businessunits and championing continuous improvement and change Organizeand present project informationsummaries in a concise, coherent manner throughappropriate communication tools and conduits and apply the templates,methodologies, tools, and technologies supporting the department-s portfolio ofservices to deliver high-value deliverables and results Assist in the evolution of the department-s supportinginfrastructure by evaluating alternative courses of action recommendingadjustments and improvements andparticipating in the department-s ongoing transformation into a continuousimprovement culture Qualifications Minimum Degree Required Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, FinanceEconomics, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, andor a related business field (e.g. MBA) Certification(s) Preferred CIA, CPA, CISA, or Six Sigma Professional ExperienceEducation 2+ years of performingleading advisoryassurance projects demonstrating creative, out-of-box thinking and solid project management principles to drive projects to completion or an MBA 2+ years of consultingadvisory experience with roles of increasing responsibility industry experience preferred BusinessLeadership Skills Working knowledge of business risks, process improvement methodologiestools, auditassurance techniquesprograms, creative problem solving skills, and structuring findingsrecommendations defining project objectives, structuring work plans, and conducting fact-based analysis to develop and test hypotheses Working knowledge and experience with data collection and analysis techniques detecting and solving complex problems conducting root cause and failure mode analysis and applying systemic thinking to thoroughly synthesize information from different sources Proven ability to work productively with people of diverse functional expertise and backgrounds building and maintaining excellent working relationships leading by example in embracing change, resolving conflicts, fostering positive team dynamics, and displaying team-orientation and personal integrity Solid written and verbal communication and presentation skills demonstrating a consistent attention to detail solid organization and workflow skills Proficiency with data analysis and process mapping applications Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) Professional Competencies Skilled interpersonally, exhibiting solid experience with collaboration, candor, openness, diplomacy, discretion, and integrity easily establishing rapport and trust Results-oriented and self-motivated demonstrated experience with quickly assimilating new knowledge and remaining current on new developments in advisory services capabilities and industry knowledge Thriving on new challenges Demonstrated experience with the following working with little supervision managing ambiguity and autonomy flexibility to work in an unstructured environment dealing effectively with uncertainty and change Other Up to 25 travel Eligibility to work in the United States About Cox Enterprises Cox Enterprises is a leading communications, media and automotive services company.
