Citi's public finance department is a dynamic investment banking unit of the Municipal Securities Division. Ranked as a top underwriter of municipal bonds, Citi continues to expand its focus on growing areas of municipal business, including large complex infrastructure transactions and Public Private Partnerships (P3s), two of the fastest growing segments of the municipal market. Citi is also looking for bankers with strong relationships with large municipalities and governmental entities that are contemplating and executing these large projects to facilitate client relationships in these areas.

Position requires significant banking experience in the public finance space and a solid background in marketing to municipalities, including State and local government and related infrastructure enterprises. Knowledge in any of the product groups of public power, water or any other government-related infrastructure and transportation areas is helpful. Knowledge of not-for-profit healthcare and higher education also desirable. Familiarity with financial products including hedging, reinvestment products and other municipal derivatives is beneficial. Candidates must be familiar with all aspects of financing from design of a capital structure to knowledge of the markets and the sales and underwriting process. Senior banker should have established relationships and ability to obtain meetings with senior personnel at desired Citi clientele.

Job Responsibilities:

Capability to lead significant banking coverage efforts for large municipalities. Ability to work with and engage product experts in a way that allows strategic discussions with municipalities designed to meet their goals and solve their most complex problems. This will include a strong understanding of all types of bonds, short and long-term in both the taxable and tax -exempt markets. This will include managing internal and external resources in the building and working to bring in other areas of the firm when necessary. Also consistent liaising with external clients and attorneys and acting as the point of contact on complex transactions. Ability to train and mentor more junior personnel in all of these areas. Development of new relationships with municipalities and related entities and continued client maintenance for existing firm clients.
