Department Profile: The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team. Job Summary: The Vice President position is part of the Location Strategy function within the Finance Divisions Global COO organization. Location Strategy is an important part of Morgan Stanleys staffing strategy. The Finance Divisions Location Strategy team works closely with managers to ensure successful transitions. This role will manage the delivery of global outsourcings, both to internal and vendor locations and requires a strong resource who can operate independently to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: Transition Management - Serve as first point of contact for Finance business units with regards to deployments. Build and maintain relationships with business partners - Project Manage multiple, simultaneous projects: deliverables, timeframes and status updates for deployments, ensuring transitions are delivering to plan - Identify, resolve or escalate issues early that may result in slippage to the transition; mobilize cross-functional teams to address issues / take preventive action - Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency of process and action improvement plans - Provide governance on transition documentation, policies and procedures to ensure global standards are adhered to - Ensure teams deliverables are accurate, on time and value add - Execute ad-hoc projects and deliverables as requested Management Reporting - Prepare executive presentations for senior management - Monitor and report all aspects of transitions globally and by receive site - Manage human capital details for roles impacted by outsourcing - Provide value add analysis on resource diversification, location capacity planning, etc. - Prepare ad-hoc global, regional and departmental reports - Analyze data to identify additional outsourcing opportunities - Manage quality, completeness and timeliness of documentation Qualifications: - Financial services experience in project management, preferably within a central team - Strong attention to detail and accuracy; applies a high standard to their work - Able to assess an audience and tailor message / presentation accordingly, able to explain complex topics in a straightforward manner - Expertise in Excel and PowerPoint, including pivot tables, formulas and data manipulation - Execution and deliverable focused - Proactive, self-starter who is able to get things done with limited direction - Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize work to handle multiple, competing deliverables - Effective written and verbal communication skills - Exceptional organizational skills - Outsourcing experience a plus
