Position: Director of Program Strategy Reports to: Executive Director
Duties and Responsibilities: The Director of Program Strategy will oversee the execution and delivery of DRI's highly acclaimed CLE programs and the development of new programming to address current market demands. This position must also interact effectively with DRI's senior management and other staff members. Along with the Director of Education, the Director of Program Strategy will serve as the primary contacts for the Law Institute - the organization's volunteer educational specialists. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to the critical analysis of the quality and viability of all educational offerings, the timely completion of seminar brochures, course materials, program evaluations, continuing legal education credit processing and new program development in conjunction with the organization's volunteer groups and leadership.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will possess a Doctor of Jurisprudence and have a thorough understanding of the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) market. Knowledge of and the ability to use sophisticated marketing techniques is a decided plus. A minimum of ten (10) years' experience in an legal education department management role with a not-for-profit or for-profit entity is mandatory. The individual must have a demonstrated history of success in developing legal education programs including traditional in-person offerings, webcasts, podcasts and alternative programming methodologies. Additionally, the successful candidate must possess the ability to critically examine DRI's seminar format and make recommendations for enhancing attendees' experiences. A thorough understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the present CLE environment, skill and creativity in the selection of traditional and non-traditional seminar venues, and knowledge of the current legal landscape will enhance the candidate's standing. Significant experience in developing and managing program budgets, a command of English and the rules of grammar, excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to meet deadlines, and exceptional interpersonal skills are also requirements of this important position.
