Overview


The Director of IT Strategy is a senior leader that serves as primary contact for IT project planning for leaders across company's business functions/units and as a "trusted advisor" to senior business executives and their managers. This individual, reporting to CIO, leads a small team of Business Partners (BRs), who will work with business leaders to build Business/IT roadmaps targeting business outcomes set by the leaders.



Responsibilities


  • Accountable for the delivery of IT value to the business by nurturing high-level relationships, sensing business opportunities and selling the value of IT in delivering solutions.
  • Fosters and matures long-term, value-driven, and strategic relationships with the business functions across the company.
  • Works with business executives to define acceptable performance metrics.
  • Measures, tracks, and reports on benefits realization and customer satisfaction levels to drive better business performance.
  • Reports on progress of BR roadmaps to the CIO.
  • Partners with VP, IT Operations, Enterprise Architecture and Information Security to ensure individual business solutions align with larger IT strategy.
  • Plans directs, coordinates, and reviews work activities of the BR team.
  • Plans, monitors, and appraises job results through effective employee coaching.
  • Directs the professional development of the BR team members including goal setting, performance management, coaching, mentoring and ensuring the team's skills and capabilities are kept up to date through the implementation of training and development programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



  • Qualifications


    Education:


  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, business management or a related field strongly preferred


    Experience:


  • Minimum 10 years in a similar job function either in IT or a technology product development team


    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


  • Proven leadership experience leading teams in delivering roadmaps and solutions to diverse business problems required
  • Must have proven ability to connect business strategy with IT architecture, ability articulate business requirements in a technical language and explain technical capabilities in business terms
  • Strong customer service skills required
  • Must have proven record in engaging in strategic conversations with executive leadership in a rapid growth company, preferably in hospitality industry
  • Agile mindset required
  • Proven ability to document and optimize business processes required
  • Hands-on experience in product management in a technology product company preferred
  • Experience and direct responsibility in B2C/B2B marketing his highly preferred


    Licenses/Certifications:


  • IT certification(s) preferred
