We are currently seeking a highly talented and energetic leader to join our team as the Director of IT Strategy & Enterprise Architecture (EA). The Director of IT Strategy & EA is responsible for building a holistic view of SCA's technology requirements, taking into account the company's supported processes, information needs, and business growth objectives. The Director will use this knowledge to ensure alignment of business and IT change objectives, support and direct investment in technologies that best support these needs, and ensure that SCA's technology is prepared to support the future growth and needs of the company. In addition, the Director of IT Strategy & EA may provide leadership, organization management and project coordination of clearly identified and strategic project activities, encompassing the alignment of our facility-based offerings with our broader IT strategy and supported products. The position is expected to include direct involvement on multiple simultaneous change, strategy or transformation efforts as well as supervision of dedicated and cross functional project management teammates. Primarily responsibilities will include: * Defining and implementing an enterprise architecture program, including an enterprise architecture blueprint and roadmap * Defining the SCA IT strategy in partnership with the Chief Information Officer and executive leadership * Owning long-term strategic planning responsibility for all SCA IT systems * Creating information and business process models, aligning and/or streamlining business processes, IT and business strategy in support of the company's business and growth objectives * Communicating the impacts, tradeoffs, risks, costs and benefits of proposed IT solutions * Developing and implementing a strategy for reducing the complexity of information systems in a cost effective manner * Defining the architecture and technology standards for all applications across the organization, and ensuring those standards are published, updated and made widely available * Learning and maintaining a strong knowledge of the HIT marketplace and of emerging technologies that can support the company's continued growth and success * Building strong working relationships with partner executives, technology partners, customers, and peer groups * Managing stakeholder expectations and related communications Candidates will possess: * 5 + years of experience in Information Technology profession * 3 + years of experience with enterprise architecture implementation * Experience in defining an enterprise architecture strategy and process that helps align IT projects with business requirements * Proven experience translating business requirements into IT specifications (strategy, platform or software selection, reference architecture design) * Expertise in project management and/or Software Development Lifecycle methodologies * 5 + years of demonstrated project management experience * Proven track record of leading large complex implementation projects * 3 + years serving in a leadership role * Proactive, decisive, action-oriented individual * Strong written and verbal communication skills, including with executive audiences * Excellent interpersonal, leadership, collaboration, facilitation and negotiation skills * Demonstrated ability to clearly explain technical issues in a way that non-technical people can understand * Ability to be broadly focused and manage multiple efforts concurrently * Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization; including staff, business stakeholders, and all levels of management, up to and including the CEO * TOGAF or other enterprise architecture certification preferred Diversity creates a healthier atmosphere: UnitedHealth Group is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, protected veteran status, disability status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by law.
