Director, Supply Chain Strategy - Richardson , Texas, United States, 75081

**Position Summary**

This role is initially responsible for expanding the supply chain strategy team?s influence and engagement with leaders of key product categories and customers (e.g. Home Appliance, Consumer Electronics, Accessories, and Tablets etc.). Focus is on building the relationships at the SVP and VP level with Samsung and its customers and service providers. This person is responsible for creating, selling and implementing Supply Chain strategies and continuous improvement initiatives. It will require our qualified candidate to evaluate and vet new opportunities and make recommendations for a path forward including managing existing and new/early stage developments through maturity. This includes business case creation and strategic analytics to propose and implement enhancements and improvements. This person will likely be leading a small team of strategy professionals and interacting with the broader supply chain strategy team that is focused on other categories.

The role will collaborate with Sales & Account Management, Technology, Operations, Finance and Marketing Leadership to proactively evaluate new projects and maintain/enhance existing projects, with a primary focus on innovative strategies. The role will attempt to solve the biggest challenges facing Samsung and our customers? supply chains. Although it is a plus, the qualified candidate is not required to have a supply chain background, but does need to be sharp, practical and be able to influence people to move in a strategic direction. The supply chain piece can be learned quickly.

We are seeking someone who will challenge the status quo in search of new processes, ideas, technology to deliver on growth and improve competitive position. They will generate innovative ideas and solutions to meet and exceed customer experience and drive margin, and present key findings from data analysis to support internal and customer groups.

**Role and Responsibilities**

+ 10-15 year experience in strategy, consulting, supply chain analysis/optimization, financial modeling, and/or process redesign

+ Bachelor?s degree required; MBA is a plus

+ Understanding of inventory theory and practice and adept in supply chain best practices is a plus

+ Proven experience facilitating the execution of key supply chain projects or other projects

+ Critically evaluate complex problems, provide clear and concise recommendations.

+ Identify and facilitate prioritization of initiatives to increase supply chain efficiency and create long-term value for both the business and its customers.

+ Develop and ensure compliance to supply chain management processes, procedures and business practices.

+ Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to work cross-functionally to resolve issues and generate results among potentially conflicting constituencies.

+ Strong analytical abilities to analyze business performance around supply chain challenges

+ High-level of confidence, integrity, enthusiasm, executive presence that fits a fast-paced, energetic and proactive organization.

+ Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills to both internal and external clients coupled with exceptional Microsoft PowerPoint capabilities

+ Ability to build strong relationships with peers, across the organization and the senior leadership team.

+ Ability to effectively work within a complex, matrix environment.

+ Experience summarizing and presenting analytical work

+ Experience leveraging market and industry insights to develop a vison and execution strategy

+ Experience leading engagements with the business units and external customers
