Responsible for supporting day to day quality assessment and performance improvement activities for the heart transplant and Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) programs and collaborates with leadership to promote continuous quality and safety improvements, and regulatory compliance.
Provides guidance, support and consultation services to the administrative and medical/surgical leadership of the Adult and Pediatric Heart Transplant and VAD Programs, with the intent to enhance the activities of performance improvement.? Responsible for the day to day continuous quality improvement for the Heart Transplant and VAD Programs.
Coaches others (leaders, teams and individuals) in the development of quality improvement plans with emphasis on process redesign and measurement.
Provides direction to leadership in the planning of a systematic approach to continuous quality improvement.
Prepares quality reports and presentations.
Provides team facilitation.
Analyzes data and applies statistical process control methods.
Provides education on the plan for improvement using a Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) approach.?
Works in collaboration with teammates from the other transplant quality programs to promote success of the overall Transplant Program for Carolinas Medical Center .
Must have the ability to clearly communicate verbally, in person, and in writing with patients, families, agencies and the health care team. Works in an office environment. Requires long periods of sitting and computer use.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelor?s degree required.? RN or other?clinical licensure strongly preferred; Master?s degree preferred. CPHQ or related certification required within 2 years.? A minimum of two years acute care experience required, cardiovascular critical care preferred.?? Experience in working in a transplant environment preferred.? Previous?experience with Joint Commission, CMS, or other regulatory agencies preferred.? Experience in working with statistical methodology.
