Job Description
The Assistant Director of Marketing Strategy and Fan Experience works as a member of the Intercollegiate Athletics marketing staff, and is under the direct supervision of the Director of Marketing Strategy & Fan Experience. The Assistant Director of Marketing oversees marketing plan development and implementation, ticket sales, sponsor activation and game presentation for the Women's Basketball and Volleyball programs with a key focus on maximizing ticket revenue, increasing fan attendance and enhancing the Maryland Athletics brand. Additional responsibilities include: assist with game day operations, fan development and revenue generation initiatives for Football, Men's Basketball and various Olympic Sports; planning and production for annual student football "Welcome to the B1G Show" event; conduct fan surveys and analyze data on consumer satisfaction, preferences and buying habits to identify potential markets and factors affecting product demand; research national best practices to enhance the game day experience at all athletic events; direct involvement in creative fan engagement and branding initiatives; assist with various other duties as assigned by the Director of Marketing Strategy & Fan Experience.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree required in sports management, marketing, advertising or other related field. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the degree.

Experience:
Minimum of one (1) year of sports marketing experience required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be able to work flexible hours, including frequent evenings and weekends.
Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Photoshop.

Master's degree preferred, with two (2) years of sports marketing experience preferably at the NCAA Division I or professional level.
