We are currently seeking a talented, enthusiastic individual to join our Accounting Advisory Team. Based primarily in Eden Prairie, this department specializes in working with small to mid-sized businesses in a wide variety of operational services: consulting, analysis and forecasting, compilations, reviews, tax preparation, outsourcing services and other unique projects. Key Responsibilities: Review complex trial balances and financial statements (compiled and reviewed) including, but not limited to, income and expense analysis, accrued liabilities, debt, equity, leases, accounts receivables, and inventory Delegate and oversee the initial preparation and set-up of client files and engagement letters Advise clients with bookkeeping, payroll, and adjusting journal entries Consult regarding accounting transactions/processes with clients in a group or one-on-one setting Identify and recognize potential risks, concerns, or issues regarding the client file Verify the validity and accuracy of client financial matters Provide knowledge of advanced income tax returns (individual, partnership, multistate, corporate, and other) Ensure quality review procedures are being effectively executed Understand the client's business practices and identify potential solutions/improvements Research technical issues Qualifications: Required: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field 6+ years of progressively challenging Public Accounting experience Solid track record of career achievements and work qualityCPA Licensure Experience with QuickBooks and proficiency in various other software, including Microsoft Office SuiteStrong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and knowledge of review, compilation, and auditing standardsStrong knowledge of all areas of the general ledger Strong knowledge of financial statement procedures Knowledge of internal revenue code, tax law, and tax processesStrong attention to detailSupervisory experienceAbility to creatively solve problems and analyze client dataAbility to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentialityAbility to work independently, multitask, and prioritize work to meet deadlines Strong interpersonal skills, a team-based attitude, and a desire to collaborate Preferred: QuickBooks Pro Advisor Certification Proficiency with accounting software programs (CaseWare, BNA Fixed Assets, Maconomy, CRM, People Planner and T‑Value) Tax experience (Individual and/or Business) Demonstrate leadership abilitiesWillingness to participate in recruiting and interviewing initiatives Demonstrate ability and desire to bring new business to the Firm Willingness to go above and beyond Our clients tell us that what separates Boulay from the rest is our thoughtful and comprehensive client service; how we work hard to develop honest, down-to-earth, long-term relationships by listening to and instigating dialogues, and finally, that we are proactive in helping them solve problems and reach their goals.
